Belinda Thrift, LCPC
“I grew up believing a lie: ‘It is weak to ask for help; I must do it on my own.’ During my 40s, after my life became unbearable, I finally turned to a trained professional counselor who helped me explore ways in which my past continued to affect my present; and learn healthier ways of coping and relating. The difference this made in my well-being, coupled with my compassion for those who are hurting, compelled me to become a counselor and offer that hope of healing to others (1 Corinthians 2: 3-4). My passion is journeying with hurting people and offering a safe environment in which they can grow and heal while discovering the truth about themselves: ‘You are strong, precious and loved!’” – Belinda Thrift
Belinda earned her Master’s Degree in Counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary of Orlando and her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Services from Belhaven University of Orlando. She’s facilitated grief groups and sexual abuse recovery groups that’s helped participants cope with and recover from significant trauma and loss. She offers therapeutic care for individuals, couples, families, and groups seeking assistance in their struggles. Belinda is particularly passionate about working with folks recovering from abuse, trauma, and codependency.
Belinda is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapy, successfully utilizing it and other evidence-based trauma-informed care to help many folks overcome issues caused by trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and abuse.
